Anara now has an iPhone and iPad companion for research on the go. This update also brings Anara into Microsoft Word and a rebuilt PDF reader to the web and desktop apps, alongside improvements to spreadsheets, presentations, and connectors.

Anara for iPhone and iPad

Take your research with you. Our new iOS app is a companion to Anara on the web, built for the moments when you're away from your computer.

Sign in to access your existing library, read a paper, and ask questions about it. Follow an answer's citations back to the passages behind it, and highlight the parts you want to revisit. Downloaded PDFs are available for offline reading. You can also save papers and links from other apps through the share menu, or scan printed pages into your library with your camera.

Anara for Microsoft Word

You can now use Anara alongside the document you're writing in Word. The new add-in opens in a side panel, where you can ask questions about your document, rewrite a selection, draft a new section, and search your library and academic literature without leaving Word.

The Cite tab lets you insert references from your library in your preferred citation style, including APA, MLA, Chicago, and Vancouver. Your bibliography updates when you change styles, and citations to your open document take you back to the relevant paragraph.

A better PDF reader

We've rebuilt the PDF reader in the web and desktop apps to make moving through papers feel smoother. Search, document outlines, and annotations have redesigned sidebars, with more room to read as you open and close them.

Zoom into a figure, find a passage, or return to your highlights and comments without losing your place. The new reader also opens papers you discover through academic search, so you can inspect a source before adding it to your library.
