Overview
Chat allows you to talk with an AI that understands the content of the files in your library. Our AI can always see whatever file, folder or library is in view. For example, when you ask questions like “Help me understand this research paper,” the AI knows exactly which paper you’re referring to.
To interact with the AI, look for the chat input located in the bottom right corner of the screen when you have a file open. This is where you can type your questions or prompts.
Highlighted references
We make it easy to verify the accuracy of a response generated by our AI. Every response includes clickable page references that take you to the part of the source material where the response was drawn from.
Attachments
Highlight specific parts of a file and click “Chat” to attach a particular excerpt to your message. You can also attach images to your conversations - simply drag and drop them anywhere in chat to include their contents as part of your question.
Referencing Library items with @mention
You can directly reference specific files from your library within the chat interface using the @
symbol.
Type @:
In the chat input, type the@
symbol.- Start Typing Name: Begin typing the name of the file or folder you wish to reference.
- Select from List: A list of matching items from your library will appear. Select the desired item from the list.
This will insert a reference to that item directly into your chat message, helping the AI focus its response or perform actions related to that specific item. This is particularly useful when discussing multiple documents or when you want to bring a specific file to Anara’s attention without navigating away from your current view.
Flashcards and notes
You can create flashcards directly in the chat. When you have a file or group open, these will be generated using information from that source. Simply ask Anara as part of your prompt. For example “Generate some flashcards to help me better understand the content of chapter 6”.
Creating and exporting
Create a new chat by clicking on the the three dot menu in the top right corner of the chat window and selecting “New chat”. You can export the chat as a .txt file from the same menu.
