Metadata sidebar and UX changes

Metadata sidebar and UX changes

Introduced a new right sidebar that automatically displays key information for books, videos, and research papers in your library, including document summaries, authors, and publication dates.

Added duplicate and delete options, plus word and character count indicators, to the Note menu.

Implemented nested Groups functionality, allowing Groups to be organized hierarchically. Each nested Group maintains its own isolated chat context, while parent Groups retain access to all items within their hierarchy.

Improvements

  • Added Chat and Note toggle buttons to the app’s top navigation, allowing you to hide and show the Chat and Note Sideview panes.
  • Updated the navigation buttons in the Note Sideview for much improved UX.
  • Switched to a more reliable and efficient vector database system to improve app performance and reduce downtime. This has significantly improved stability and response times across all features.
  • Rebuilt the Search menu - you can now search your library based on exact match, approximate match and natural language query via a language model.
  • Overhauled our billing logic to reduce bugs relating to subscriptions and payments.
  • It’s now possible to open a sidebar item in a new browser tab by right clicking or holding CMD/CTRL and clicking.
  • Added URL validation to website import for better UX.
  • Improved text generation in Note with better completion handling, text highlighting and action menu responses. This includes improved rewriting capabilities and fixes a bug where language preferences were not properly maintained (previously defaulting to English)

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where chat pane was hiding automatically when switching between a Note and a Document.
  • Fixed a bug where loading indicator in chat would flash appear in the wrong position in Chat.
